Empowered by Technology:
How I Capture Your Photos
As a legally blind photographer, I experience the world differently—through emotion, intuition, and innovation. While my vision is limited, my perspective is limitless. I find deep joy in capturing the beauty of everyday moments: a subtle gesture, an authentic smile, a fleeting glance. Whether I’m photographing intimate portraits or bold fashion editorials, every session is a chance to tell a story and celebrate what makes each person beautifully unique.
My functional vision extends only a few inches in front of me, so I rely on adaptive technology to bridge the gap. The Apple Vision Pro headset gives me access to high-resolution views of my surroundings with enhanced depth perception and image stability. It connects directly to my MacBook, where it creates a large virtual workspace allowing me to review, edit, and refine my images with remarkable clarity.
The headset also runs beta software that helps compensate for some of the more extreme aspects of my vision loss. Because the LCD sits close to my eyes and uses advanced eye-tracking, it helps correct for issues with depth of field and stabilizes my sight when my eyes shake. It doesn’t fix everything, but it’s a game-changer—and it empowers me to do what I love.
I shoot with state-of-the-art Canon cameras equipped with advanced autofocus and subject-tracking systems. Paired with large external LCD monitors, these tools help me compose each shot with confidence and precision. I make thoughtful adjustments in real time based on visual cues and feedback from my gear, ensuring every image is sharp, expressive, and carefully crafted.
For editing, I often use Capture One to tether my camera directly to my MacBook. This lets me review and adjust images immediately during the shoot. I also travel with a portable router to keep my devices securely connected. This is essential because my equipment needs to communicate over a dedicated Wi-Fi network that I control—free from interference, high-speed, and protected from outside access. Whether I’m in the studio, on location, or anywhere in between, this streamlined workflow keeps everything running smoothly and helps me deliver finished images efficiently without compromising on quality.
Because of my unique process, I typically arrive early to set up equipment and ensure every detail is in place before we begin. I take my time because I care deeply about the experience I provide. My goal is always to create a calm, comfortable, and collaborative space—one where you feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
